Fresh Flavas
The Fresh Flavas New Works Program began in 2003 as a series of staged readings of works-in-progress by playwrights
of color. With major support from the Ford Foundation, African Continuum Theatre has been able to move beyond simply staging
multiple readings to actual script development, taking plays from creative inception to the stage.
Past readings have

BoBCO - Back On the Block Company
African Continuum Theatre
provides a community outreach program that focuses on young people in the H Street, NE corridor. Based on the core principles
of the Living Stage Theatre Company, BOBCo uses theatre to work with small groups of children in the community to reawaken, strengthen
and direct the natural creative energy and focus it on activities that foster positive self images and community pride.
A company
of four young professional actors perform short plays at various places in the community on issues right out of the lives of the audience.
Audience members are encouraged to actively participate in the entire creative process.
